You always hear about people buying a rental property as their first home. Is this the best idea? I can see the benefit of having a property like a duplex or triplex so you can have income to assist in paying the mortgage. But with rentals come the headaches of possibly dealing with not-so-great tenants. What are people's thoughts?
I think in today's economy it almost only makes sense to buy a home if you are renting it out to help pay the mortgage. I have heard of peple renting their homes out as an AirBnb on weekends or times when they are not home.
